Port Said (Bur Sa'id) is located at the mouth of the Suez Canal and stretches for almost 30 kilometers between its left bank and the coast of the Mediterranean Sea as a sentry guarding the gateway between the African continent and the Middle East. The city has a population of over 600,000 inhabitants and is considered one of the most advanced and cosmopolitan in all of Egypt due to its particular administrative status as a free port. Today Port Said is a very popular destination for visitors coming from all over the world and, although it does not have the great archaeological wonders of other Egyptian realities on its territory, its cosmopolitan atmosphere, the elegant historic center and the splendid naturalistic area of the lake Manzala offer tourists a pleasant holiday. In this guide we will discover the most interesting destinations and attractions not to be missed on a trip to Port Said, the city guarding the Suez Canal.
Founded in 332 BC from Alexander the Great, Alexandria of Egypt was the main cultural center of the ancient world and its past contains a truly fascinating history. Located on the Mediterranean coast and with over 4 million inhabitants, Alexandria is the country's main port and one of the main ports in the Mediterranean. Today it is the most cosmopolitan and westernized Egyptian city in the country.
Rhodes is an island with a double soul, traditional and modern, it is a concentration of history where you can retrace the ancient glories of ancient Greece by visiting the precious archaeological sites.
Rhodes is the largest island in the Dodecanese and the easternmost of the main Aegean islands, it is located about 18 km from the coast of Turkey. The island is famous all over the world for the Colossus, one of the seven wonders of the world, but it is worth visiting for its medieval castles, archaeological sites, slow-moving villages and incredible beaches.
The old town of Rhodes is the largest medieval city in all of Europe. It is considered one of the most important international monuments, for this reason it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988.
There are no other similar islands in the Mediterranean and in the seas around the world. The panorama of the caldera, the volcanic crater whose summit collapsed following a gigantic explosion about 3500 years ago, is simply unique: everything contributes to the spectacle, the red-brown, black rocks sprinkled with gray pumice, the islets wrecks where there was the mouth of the volcano, the deep blue sea, the villages overlooking the edge of the cliff, the immaculate white.
The island of Monemvasia and the municipality of the same name are part of Laconia, a historical region of Greece located in the southern Peloponnese. From an administrative point of view, Laconia constitutes a peripheral unit of Greece, corresponding to our provinces. In addition to Laconia, the largest peninsula of the Peloponnese includes: Arcadia, Argolida, Corinthia, Messenia, Achaia and Elis. The island of Monemvasia, along the southern coast of the Cape Malea Peninsula, represents an opportunity to travel to one of the historic regions of Greece, the cradle of myths and legends, as well as an attractive food and wine offer. p>
Often compared to Capri or Portofino, Idra is chic but not snobbish, expensive but accessible, isolated but close. The ideal island to forget about cars and problems! The small island of Hydra (or Hydra), 20km long and 6km wide, is a world unto itself. Its tourist fame is due to the aristocrats and rich Athenian bourgeois who, taking advantage of the proximity to the capital, built their summer residence here. This chic atmosphere has continued over the years to attract rich people and celebrities, such as Onassis, Sofia Loren, Mike Jagger and Leonard Cohen, and the island has been chosen as the set for several films.
After breakfast, disembarkation and end of the cruise.
